Project Description

ROS performed the decontamination and decommissioning of the Valeant Pharmaceuticals International Oral Contraceptive Facility. The scope of work included the removal and clean up of HVAC and dust collection systems ductwork and equipment (i.e., air handling units, exhaust fans, dust collectors, vacuum unit, etc.), and the solvent recovery unit. It also included the decontamination of piping and fixed and portable process equipment, removal of lighting fixtures with fluorescent light bulbs and ballasts. Wipe samples were collected from decontaminated items for laboratory analyses to verify conformance to the defined “clean” criteria and to validate ROS’ cleaning methodologies. The work was performed under a negative pressure environment in Level C PPE, with continuous heat stress monitoring. ROS completed the project with “ZERO INCIDENTS”, under budget and within project schedule.
