WWTP Design - Construction
Project DescriptionROS completed the design, construction, and start-up of a new $6.5 million WWTP for this beverage bottling facility. The project involved the construction of a 500,000 GPD WWTP to replace their existing land application system. URS was responsible for formulating the process design, preparing the site plans and doing the architectural and civil design of the treatment building. URS also designed the solids handling process and the plant instrumentation. ROS was the overall construction/project manager, and self-performed all the site work, a large portion of the building construction, installation of the sludge handling process lines and equipment as well as all the underground piping and valving. ROS then acted as the General Contractor for the construction for the remainder of the system, including the plant electrical, fire suppression and security systems. The contract was awarded in June of 2001, and fieldwork began in July of that same year. Work progressed throughout the winter months and substantial completion was achieved in July of 2002, approximately 13 months after award. Start-up and shakedown operations began in mid-July and were complete (successfully meeting discharge parameters) in late September, 2002. |
